In October of 2013, one year before Stephanie and Payton’s wedding, I was setting up for a wedding at the Palace Theater and the Lancaster Room in Grapevine.  Stephanie and her mom came to take a look since that is where they were going to have a wedding a year later.  I met them and we were a match.   I loved Stephanie and her mom and we really made a great team.  Then we added the groom.  It made for a perfect day.

Working in a theater as a ceremony location has it’s challenges.  The first one is “How do we make it look like it is not a play?” Thanks to Randy at Randy Ro Entertainment, he was able to drape and light the stage just as the bride imagined it.  WePlusYou added candles and instantly it was transformed.  The bride chose a beautiful strapless gown and surrounded herself with precious bridesmaids dressed in jewel tones.  WePlusYou provided beautiful floral to pull it all together.

I love when we mix it up a little by making the cake table a focal point in the room.  Stephanie loved gold and that is where the cake table started.  The yummy cake adorned with gold and the desserts of many kinds were provided by The Jenny Layne Bakery.  The guests loved it.  Dinner was provided by Extreme Cuisine Catering of Argyle and music was provided by Mike Sanderson of Randy Ro Entertainment.  S.E.A.T by design provided the beautiful champagne satin linens.

At the end of the night, the guests had the fun treat of leaving with popcorn for their ride home!  What a great way to end a PERFECT day!

And they lived happily ever after!

Laura and Ryan – Something Blue…..8.2.14

I have known Laura since she was in middle school.  Laura and my daughter, Melissa,  were friends in church youth choir.  Although they went to different schools, they both loved band and Laura ended up being a Middle School Band Director.  Over the years they remained friends and Melissa was her Matron on Honor.  This was a wedding that was planned from afar.  Laura lived in Pasadena and Ryan lived here.  The bride’s parents were in Austin, but with just a few trips to Dallas, we were able to plan a pretty wedding that was really sweet.  Laura loved “horizon blue”.  I love it when the bride steps outside the crayon box and uses a bright color.

Elephants…..  I am not sure an elephant is a subtle detail to a wedding, but Laura and Ryan made it work.  Ryan, the groom, loves elephants.  Laura adopted a baby elephant for him from the Fort Worth Zoo, has painted him pictures of elephants and wanted to somehow incorporate elephants into the day.  So the cake and the program had that little “elephant” accent.   A fact about elephants I did not know was that trunks raised on an elephant is a symbol of “good luck”.

They chose  Le Beaux  Chateau for their wedding and reception venue in Flower Mound.  The Jenny Layne Bakery added some sweet elephants to the yummy cake with lot’s of blue dots.    The chapel and ballroom are connected, so when their guests arrived, no one had to go in the heat except for a few pictures.  Julie Shields of  Phase 3 Photography caught some great moments and Mike Sanderson of Randy Ro Entertainment provided lot’s of fun music with hours of dancing.  Extreme Cuisine of Argyle provided some great Italian food.
